Victory with the 1st Armee Francais
From a group of items belonging to Colonel William T. Starr. A US Cavalry officer attached to the 6th US Army Group. He was a involved in support of the 1st French Army during campaigns in N.Africa, France and Germany.
These are a few pieces from his scrapbook. A French victory celebration near Lake Constance. The photograph is of Col Starr receiving the Croix de Guerre from General De Lattre. Hope you enjoy Jack

thanks for the positive comments. Some additonal items of interest belonging to Col. Starr. These photos also coming from the Lake Constance victory celebration. One photo of note features General Jacob Devers Commander 6th Army Group, General De Lattre and Colonel Henry Cabot Lodge Jr who had served on Devers 6th AG staff. Lodge had come from an old moneyed and influential family here in the US. Lodge would serve as United States Senator from Massachusetts and a United States ambassador. He was the Republican nominee for Vice President in the 1960 presidential election alongside incumbent Vice President Richard Nixon, though the Republican ticket lost to Democrat John F. Kennedy.
thanks Jack http://
