Default WW2 German ammunition pouch

Hi Guys

Been clearing out the attic, and came across some stuff I picked up when I was a kid. Can anyone tell me what ammunition this would have been used for? K97?
There are some markings on the back, 1940, and what looks like "Bensburg"?
Is that a maker anyone recognizes?

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Colin

Colin,

Its for the standard 7.92×57mm Mauser ammunition.

The maker is the curved part of the stamp, the one you quoted is the town it was based.

regards
