West Indies can anybody help?
Hi all,
I have in my collection two crossbelt plates, the one I would like info on is the Jamaica 1803. I would say it was genuine as it came with a Loyal Edinburgh Spearmen plate circa1800-1805. I'm not sure if the picture will come through as this is my first post. Any help would really be appreciated. Garry. |

Hi Garry,
This is the crossbelt plate for the JAMAICA MILITIA. Not the West India Regiment. The pouch box had an 8 point star with the Alligator in the centre . West India Regt. had WI and crown. A nice bit. Hope this helps. Flatdog |

Hi Flatdog,
Thanks for the info. Now I have something to go on.Unfortunatly the studs at the back have been replaced by loops, probably to be put on a board at one time.Still anything that old is a nice badge to have. Regards Garry. |
