BAAG formation Sign
Dear Mike,
From your article"Hong Kong Stories and Badges" in Crown Imperial, you had shown one patch (Fig 12) the formation sign of BAAG with a scarlet pimpernel on black. Any chance to obtain one ? Regards, Bruno |

The actual sign you mention was given to me in the late 1980s by a retired officer (Punjab Regt in WW2 and Int Corps (TA) post-WW2). He kept the other one of the pair that he wore when serving in BAAG China n 1945. A second example was donated by another BAAG veteran, Maj Hugh Wilkinson in December 1976. They do turn up for sale occasionally, but not at a price I would consider affordable! I haven't seen an obvious fake BAAG sign (yet). Mike

I believe the photo at the bottom of this link is is the only one depicting Lt Col Ride actually wearing the BAAG flash - just visible on his right arm.
