Default chaplains badge? and horse brass id needed

hi guys
can anyone id the chaplains badge? it has screw posts, 3 piece, maybe USA?
and what period and rgt does this horse brass? belong to?

Second item Horse furniture . Ear boss to the 1st Royal dragoons. This should be backed by brown leather .

The Chaplains badge is modern, of South Africa. See Owen 1113.

revdougal, is it a hat badge or where else would it be worn? do south african badges generaly have screw posts for hat badges?

This looks like a cap badge, where the usual means of fixing is with 2 spikes, each with a clutch. Smaller versions of the badge are collars.
