Late to the discussion, Gents; it seems I missed it first time around...

I'm with Badjez and Angle Iron; I think this is the National Volunteer Reserve.

The stylized 'V' that appears in KK1668 is quite unusual, but exactly the same is on the NVR mufti badge.

NVR's were springing up in 1914/15 in what today is the Greater London area. Perhaps slightly further afield, too, but I've not come across any references too far outside the M25.

Not much is known about exactly what constitutes a NVR, criteria for joining, etc. Fairly common for WW1 home front activities...

A25 certainly works for those of us in the SE, but more than three-quarters of the rest of the GL population are shaking their heads in either bewilderment or disgust; probably both!

very excited today, I have finally found the link I (we)have been looking for.

A dated (1915) Magazine photo of a man in the National Volunteer Reserve, wearing the shoulder title, N.VOLUNTEER.R,and the GR armband, and the county NVR unit he was in. Photo show him and others on a gas attack training excise.The Jackets have coloured collars and epaulets, as per the above photos.

Don't have the photo yet, but have seen it in the flesh
