Is this an early RFC badge ?

Hey

So I know what it is and the time period buuuut I have a question is this an early one because I cant really see any that are cut out under the crown AND the back seems to have little bars attached to the crown

Was this because early badges broke so they added little bars and then started making them with less of the in between metal being cut out (hope makes sense :/ )

I've some pics to show what I mean and the crowns never been broken off so these must have been put on when it was made I suppose?

It looks like an RFC officer's bronze badge to me and yes there were blades to the back.

I think it’s a manufacturers variation rather than a sign of early or late manufacture
