ROYAL MONMOUTHSHIRE ROYAL ENGINEERS
I have just brought this R MONS RE badge off e bay. It looks like a Officer silver & gilt badge. I have done the paper test and it shows as silver. The letters RE are silver as well. It has lugs north & south which I find unusual and look like they are well fixed. It also looks as if there was a slider that has been removed. The badge is of two part construction.
Has anyone seen this type of "set up" before and for what reason would it be used? Sorry for pictures but still not mastered the photo tent yet.
