103rd Regiment of Foot Badge
I know these things have been copied to the nth degree but is this a good one? Thank you

Oddly enough I’ve just added this very type to my Martin Marsh volume II album.
Here it is for comparison. |

Just the 2 lugs ? Surely that wouldn't sit very well ?

Thanks Luke, shame the details are so blurry on that image.
Thanks Andy, every example I have ever seen only had 2 lugs.

Sorry DJT missed your reply. Whilst the Martin Marsh scans aren’t the best they are often very useful and diagnostic. For example it shows identical flame, numeral shape and same connecting joins. Undoubtedly your badge is from this stable.
The attached is I gather the genuine item. Completely different in construction: die stamped, numeral shapes, connecting joins, flame pattern, with brass loops etc. all these features strike me as period. If I was seeking an example I’d look for one like this over the badge in post #1. |

They sure are close to being the same and it would have fooled me, but I am no expert! Always helpful to learn what's bad and the whys!

Can a clever computer Wizard put these side by side just for Comparison?
By the time I get from one to the other checking am getting Dizzy! Top of "3" appears angled upwards, have this badge, but more s gap-filler (not sure of it more like!), but would like to make sure, thanks Andy for pointing out the Martin Marsh connection, cheers billy |
