RAF flying suit badge for 30 Squadron. Flies C-130 Hercules aircraft. The palm tree from the squadron crest, commemorating long service in the Middle East.

The same design has been worn for many years. The current style has a merrowed edge and is nylon embroidered with a plastic covered backing. Yours doesn't have the merrowed edge so it's either fallen off or never had one. I'd guess that if it doesn't have a plastic back and never had merrowing it's pre 1970's at the latest. If really thick cotton then pre 60's?
