Default Royal Mail tracker problem

Hi Guys just putting this up as a fresh post to my earlier post on mail delivery problems..

My 3 items have arrived via 2nd Class Signed at the address they were sent to - not too far from PO of origin - but the Royal Mail tracker is still showing them as not delivered yet.

Thought I'd let everyone know that probably no reason to fret though tracker might not updated. I was panicking a bit and called up my friend in UK just now, only to be informed that all items have arrived.

So maybe when your items still seem to be stuck they might have actually arrived. Very funny though, since I've always found in the last 10 years of buying from UK that RM always update promptly.
But then these are difficult times.
Stay safe, everyone!

Some postmen update delivery status immediately (on the doorstep) , others wait till they have finished their round and do all updates then.

I think (officially) they must do so before their shift ends .

Especially at the moment. We are having a different postie every day as they are short staffed. The Office is only open from 7-9 AM. They are allowed to sign themselves rather than you signing or putting a card through the door. I think if its signed they have to knock or ring the bell to see if your in.

I jsut checked once again, the last item is being showd as delivered, but the two earlier items - posted 2 weeks and 1 week ago still showing as not delivered.
But still, guess alls well that ends well and the postal guys have enough on their plate..on the job every day, unlike most of us sitting/working from home.
Cheers!

Although I only live 200m from the sorting office I am in the same situation , I think the 'route' I am on is covered by overtime work so delivery time can be anywhere between 0900 and 1800.

Can't complain , the posties are doing a great job with limited staff.

I would have thought that was actually a 2D barcode issue rather than anything else, although, it might be a problem with the wireless 4G network that is used.
