Default WRAC attached to Royal Hampshire Regiment

Hi all. Just a quick question? WRAC personnel on their Lovat No 2 dress and in barrack dress, on the bottle green jumper, would normally wear a small badge of the unit they were attached to, usually (but not always!) a collar badge on the breast. Can anyone tell me if WRAC attached to the Royal Hampshire Regiment wore the Royal Hampshire collar dog or a small Royal Hampshire cap badge broach of their own?

Many thanks

Tony

Tony,

I have several pictures that support the WRAC wearing associated unit badges. One is for the MPs (collar) , the Queens (cap), RA (collar), plus several I've not been able to make out the badge.

However, it seems to have still be the practice carried over from the ATS.

Sorry I can't be more help,

Terry

Tony, I'm sure it was the given practice by attached WRAC personel - certainly through the 80's - 90's to my personal knowledge. WRAC women 100% wore an RA collar on the left breast on their green v neck pullover.

Cheers Bess, think people are mis-understanding my question though! I know that the WRAC definitely did wear a small badge on the left breast of their pullover or lovat jacket, in 2 Wessex, the girls wore a wyvern collar dog and likewise, WRAC attached to the paras did wear a para collar dog, but I've never seen a WRAC soldier attached to the Royal Hampshire Regiment, or the Queen's Regiment, so don't know what they wore, as the collar dogs were different to the cap badge?

Hi Terry, so if a unit/regiment collar badge was different from the cap badge (as with the Queen's) they wore the cap badge? Interesting?
