Default unusual Gloucestershire rgt badge

hi all
looking for your thoughts on this one.
the front doesnt seem to match the back?
looks dull brass or bronze front but bright brass or gilt rear and officers?
it is gaunt marked so im pretty sure its ok but not 100%
cheers

I think it is ok but I am guessing it has spent most of its life mounted on something, hence the totally different tarnished / oxidised patinas between the front and rear of the badge. It may be unfinished and still need a bronzing coat?
Cheers,
Alex

bc,

did they have a gilt badge for the dress cap? I know the RA for instance use bronzed/bronze on the sd cap and gilt on the forage/dress cap, perhaps he needed an osd badge and had it coloured to suit, though if they never used a gilt cap badge then forgive my pointless pondering.
