2nd/1st Glamorgan Yeomanry, 1917.
Sadly, I do not know who he is but he appears to be a Corporal in the 2/1st Glamorgan Yeomany. The photograph was taken some time after July 1917 when the battalion was based at Bunacre in Suffolk. They were stationed there until the end of 1917.

Fantastic photo and a thousand thank yous Simon. You have solved something here I believe.
That appears to the ‘diamond dot’ pattern badge, which had always been thought of as post WW1. Recently I found what I believe is a genuine 1916 all GM issue Glam Yeo. I theorised that SP 530/1916 was the former in BM. Your photo does I believe confirm this pattern was worn in wartime, note the blank ich Dien scroll position being key. To be fair, the badge does appear to be all GM.
I've seen many Pembroke Yeomanry photos, and the Bi metal badges show up even in the bad quality ones. Chris |

I can't tell if the badge in the photo is all GM or Bi, but it is certainly the pattern with the Ich Dien scroll ends attached to the bottom one.
