a few new items with a few questions
hi all
just wondering a few things about this lot firstly, are they all genuine? what is the PoW feathers badge? Welsh? and why is it a chocolate brown? what period are the 2 collars, the the Sth Lancs and the welsh dragon? is the rifles badge a collar as it has rather large looking lugs is the para genuine as its on lugs and not a slider as im used to seeing? thanks in advance BC Last edited by badgecollector; 30-08-22 at 11:01 AM. |

The KOYLI is actually a cap badge with the wide fittings. WW1 were on vertical shanks but they changed to this one inter war. The collars were lugged.
The Para Regt is fine: whilst the early ones were on a slider, they changed to lugged ones. |

The PoW plumes badge is Denbighshire Hussars.

Or R. Wiltshire Yeomanry, and possibly 15th London.

With what appears to be a fairly strong crimp mark at the top of the slider, which should indicate WW1 vintage

CB, RWY badges were bi-metal, 15th Londons were blackened brass. The badge in the opening post is bronzed brass as worn by the Denbighshire Hussars.

RWY wore both Bz and bi-metal badges. The issued one produced mid war was Bz and for use by both the DH and the RWY as the sealed patterns card listed both regiments on it.
