Default Middle Eastern mysteries

Good Afternoon all,

Does anyone know what these three badges are? I am attaching pictures of each. I think the Medical Corps badge may be a Colonial Sudan province such as Mongalla. The last one could be some kind of Arabic number.

Any help is much appreciated as ever.

Kind regards
Bill

Hello, I would say that the 1st badge is "Engineer" related as it has the 9 (nine) flamed grenade and a castle which some countries use for their Engineers, the USA for example. Depending on the size and fixings it could be a collar badge?
If you intended to move this on I would be interested.
Sorry, I cannot help with the others but as you have said, pic 2 has a medical background. Pic 3 ???

Thanks for your reply Jerry. The first one is a collar badge I think. It does have Arabic writing on it. You're probably right about Engineers with the 9 flames. It would be nice to identify it properly though.

Thanks again.

Bill, I think it is Jordanian Army Engineers. Having looked at a few Middle Eastern Crowns, Jordon came up as the nearest but cannot narrow it down as they seem to wear a generic cap badge.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for finding the pictures of Arab league badges on ebay. They are pretty conclusive evidence I think.

Hi Bill,

The second badge is I would say a post 1956 Sudan Medical Corps cap badge, although not associated directly with Mongalla, as the Sudan adopted the Rhino during the Republic, before settling for the emblem of a Secretary Bird in 1970, when the country became the Democratic Republic of the Sudan.

Zob.
