Default Odd 7 Cm knife inscription translation or place of origin

Can any one translate the writing on this small 7 CM knife or possible place of origin,it came with some WW1 badges and buttons,

An odd item that probably says something like (I have been to Blackpool?)

Regards

Stephen

Default Knife Writing

Stephen,

Writing looks Cyrillic. I'm no Russian speaker, I'm just going by the Russian Cyrillic alphabet in my dictionary.

It appears that the stamping, transliterated, is as follows:

1st line: MIL.ADAMOVI_ (lower case 'h' but upside down = 'ch'; maybe
it was stmped incorrectly)

2nd line: LASOVAD (Google Maps can't find anywhere called Lasovad)

So, maybe Russian, or maybe some other Cyrillic inspired language. As I say, I'm no expert. Hopefully, this is of some help. Apologies if it isn't.

Ian

Looks like someone’s name; Mil. Adamovich Lasovats.

The Russian Cyrillic alphabet changed around 1917-ish, when they dropped some of the less used letters, but none of those letters are in this inscription. This may indicate the engraving is post WWI.

I would go for something like

MIY ADAMOVIC
LASOVAC

Adamovic would be a name - literally Son of Adam or Adamson.
Lasovac is a place in Croatia - east of Zagreb. Its in an area with a Serb minority population so there may well have been some use of Cyrillic pre-civil war there.

According to one of my sons carers it would seem to be someone's name, first name, fathers first name then surname but even she had trouble saying it was old.
