I have an inner on its own that looks the same, for RWF, must try and get the outer one day.

Default (Welsh) Police belt buckle?

I am wondering if this is a (Welsh) Police belt buckle? If not, perhaps it is a ‘put together’ of a RWF centre with a blank outer circlet?

It is not police related. A year or so ago, Hobsons Ltd., cleared out their stock of "overrun" belt buckles. The majority were bought by a surplus dealer and appeared on eBay. Many were correctly coupled together with matching male and female parts. However, some were miss-matched. I suspect that this may be one of them.

Dave.

Dave,
Thanks, then a ‘put together’ it is and somewhere out there is an RWF inscribed outer but with the wrong centre!

The small arms school corps pattern had a blank outer. The centre appears to be RWF as mentioned. Coincidentally I wore both types so they are especially familiar.

Toby,
Thanks. In addition to SASC I have also found versions of SAS and RCT ‘Hobson’ buckles with plain outers.
