Default 10 flames

Hi,
Just came across this collar badge, I always understood that RE was 9 flames and RA was 7 flames. Why does this one has 10

Hi Albert, the 10 flames badge is a RE pre 1922 OSD collar, in 1922 the nine flamed grenade was approved for all occasions.

Rgds,

Thomas.

Useful info, as I have one of these and wondered about the variation.
