Nice collection of badges there - I'm highly impressed!! On 96 ARGA, got a 1945dated Canadian BD blouse of the Lt.-Col of 655 LAA/SL Regt RA (Liverpool Scottish) a while back. Sadly, the 96 ARGA signs were gone long before I came across it, as were the Cameron Highlanders collar dogs and some of the ribbons. But still retains its artillery insignia and Forbes tartan flashes. Still wish the formation signs were still present though.

(Note: I suppose this blouse could have been from the 89th A/T Regt RA (Liverpool Scottish), but I still feel it to be from the post-war reconstituted unit)

A very interesting battledress blouse even without some of the insignia- most envious.
As a matter of interest did you get this in the US ? my service dress tunic of the last C.O. of the Liverpool Irish came from Messdress over there.

You know doubt know the 1st Liverpool Scottish wore the Forbes tartan patch horizontally - still worn by the Liverpool Scottish cadets on the brassard and worn in the past by cadets of Liverpool Collegiate CCF.

Nice blouse there too - envious myself! Actually my blouse came from a dealer in the UK - Martin Fuller if I remember right. And I've also always been pleased with Mess Dress - nice bits there to be certain.

Post RA Arm badge

Here's one for 102 (Ulster) AD Regiment RA (v). which was worn on the left arm. i don't know if they have been worn since the amalgamation with 105 regiment.

Hi, could this be an 87th Army Group RA? The reason I ask is that it is not like the WW11 55th Div sign in construction.

The simple answer is that I do not know, but there are a remarkable number of variations of this badge, I have a couple of different printed examples, a number of embroidered ones and one I picked up fairly recently appears to be a printed example with the head of the rose embroidered.

The badge has been used again recently ( reverting to the round design ) by a Liverpool signals unit.

I suppose positve proof would be an actual uniform of the 87th AGRA

I have not seen one with that colour of stem and leaf.

Which signal unit has the round version?

54 Bty,
See Ian Kellys web site he shows the old 55th West Lancs Div sign as being worn by 55th ( Merseyside ) H.Q. and Squadron, part of 33rd ( Lancashire and Cheshire ) Signals Regiment ( Vols )

He was I think C.O. of the unit and has written a history of it.

They may use it as a letter head but it is (was) not worn as a badge.

First badge is the first pattern for;

33rd (Lancashire & Cheshire) Signal Regiment (V)

Second badge is one sold by the Museum as a keepsake.

Hi, thought you might like this. Unfortunately the owner removed the RA cloth titles and one of the Malta signs.

What a shame, the RA titles could hardly be considered to be scarce on their own. Why do people mess about with items like this ?
