Default ROYAL ENGINEER cap badge

I have seen this RE badge for sale and it is advertised as -
" A staybrite metal cap badge for the Royal Engineers, ERII version. Some wear and the top of the crown is slightly bent. Otherwise in good condition with slider attached."
It is very rough looking, so my question " Is it staybrite or metal??"
Thanks for looking.
Jerry

A shiny and complete refinishing to a used and abused badge?
Anodised aluminium, rubbed, painted, slider missing and a "metal" replacement glued or cold soldered on?
Hard to tell.
What the heck - I'll go "metal".
