37 Battalion Pacific badge
Hi to all,
Has anyone seen this badge before? I am interested to know if anyone has any information about this badge and the badge mentioned in Thomas/Lord as 37 Battalion being red/blue diamond on black. The 37 Battalion association pin that was produced post war has the yellow and red colours. Is the red/blue/black badge an early example and the yellow and red badge a later example. Did they change for some reason during the war? Any help appreciated. Thanks Barry |

Hi Barry,
An interesting wee patch, from what I can see it is hand stitched? Comparing your patch to the 14 examples of 2NZEFIP distinguishing patches in my photo database, and the four that are in the Thomas/Lord book, and the 14th MMG patch in my own collection, they all have a very noticeable machine stitching when viewed from the front. However, yours could well be an unofficial version. 36th and 37th Battalion patches. 36th & 37th Battalion obverse.jpg 36th & 37th Battalion reverse.jpg Brent |
