Default Cap badge or formation sign?

I have a pair of 7th Indian Division round bullion pin-back badges which I am interested in finding out whether these were worn on the uniform or a hat.

My other 7th Indian Division cloth badges are squared.

I think I have seen references to these being worn on a slouch hat, but this maybe a figment of my imagination, so hopefully someone can confirm where these were worn.

Thanks in advance

Rob

Thanks Marc that's a great help.

The 1st pattern came as a pair with pin backs which made me think the could have been worn on a bush hat, possibly worn on shoulder straps?

They were worn on both the slouch hat pagri and in facing pairs for upper sleeves. The brooch fitting made removal from the sleeves easy for laundering.

Thanks CB, both my badges are not facing pairs which is a pity.
