Smile DCLI Officer's silver beret badge

Hi again all,

Another nice and not so easy to obtain. A Duke Of Cornwall's Light Infantry Officers silver (unmarked) beret badge. Long silver loops and the badge measures 33x30mm. The badge itself is not covered in K&K but I believe this is post-1951 issue badge.

Cheers Dean

Much appreciated thanks.

I have seen trends where a particular badge "floods" the market and this could be one but better silver badges are not cheap to repro.

Look forward to your further input on this one, cheers Dean.

Default Hallmarked silver DCLI.

Good evening.

And then there`s a hallmarked silver version by J R Gaunt and Son, assayed Birmingham, either 1921-22, or 1946-47, you choose. Size 32mm x 26mm. Loops east-west.

I have a number of examples and all feature the mouthpiece of the bugle horn to the viewer's right.

Beret badge? Collar badge?

You decide.

Enjoy.

S.T.

Hi S.T,

I did wonder if a silver badge would cross your radar?

Yes I did consider a collar but the size from collars I have had was different and so I opted for the beret badge but as you say it would be hard to make an absolute call without provedance.

Appreciate the input, cheers Dean.
