Can anybody tell me which Scottish regiment wore this tartan patch behind their cap badge? Cheers, Rick |

Hi,
it is an old Tam O Shanta with no bobble on the top... no idea how old though? Cheers, Rick |

I don't recognise the tarten as a British Military one. Normally they are sewn more securely onto the hat.

It's confusing to identify because the predominant red background is not apparent when worn as a badge backing. |

And use by the predecessor regiment, 225 (Highland) Field Ambulance in honour of the WWII CO who died in a Prison Camp. He'd been on a recce when the unit was captured as part of the 51st at St. Valery. He return to command the unit in the Prison Camp.
