Leicestershire Regt.
Has anyone any record of the Leicester's wearing a white metal cap badge as pictured?

None at all and the badge is from a fake die - nasty 'owl-like eyes'

The TF seem to have worn the scrolless badge in bi-metal in all orders of dress.
This one is a fantasy design. Alan |

No age to that badge, it looks new, but, the regiment added the word Royal to it's title seventy odd years ago, awful.

There are two different silver Officer’s and WM ORs versions of the 1st VB badge with Gaunt Birmingham mark as per silver and gilt Officer’s examples of the Regular Battalion badge. These can be dated by the Gaunt Birmingham mark (first introduced in 1895) to the introduction of the tiger badge in 1896/8-1905. All of which are genuine. I have an unmarked silver TF battalion badge as well which has perplexed me. The OSD version of the 1st VB badge is also marked for Gaunt Birmingham and is genuine. Then there is a chromed version of the regular Battalion badge which has been discussed as for ‘walking out’ but no firm evidence like being attached to an armoured formation has come to light that I am aware of.
The WM one shown here at the start of the thread is a fake and so could my silver one. Cheers Dean
