Hi

While I may not have the time to write or host or publish or collect as much (or even as little!) as some, and I absolutely respect those that do in the manner described above, I do like to contribute where I can and learn as much as I can. I've had "stubborn" moments but like to think now that I listen more than I speak. That's hard too tho'. There are many experts in their fields but some need a personality.

I said when I got here that badges weren't my main focus and just build collections of cap badges while waiting for other things to come along. In my WW2 (1945 establishment) Armour Corps one, I never made space for the CAFVS version and also had bought a nice (to me) copy of a Kangaroos, not expecting to find those. Now, with the stars suddenly lined up, I have no need of my copy.

So..........what type is the left one? Now that I can hold them together, I really get a feel for the differences.

regards
Darrell

It's a type of scrap metal. (common repro)

Does your other badge have repaired lug(s)? The dark spot in the lower, central area looks like heat staining. Any idea who the veteran it came from was? (I always ask)

Hi Bill No, not that I see. The staining appears to be collected grime and comes off quite easily. It's not on the rear., just more grime elsewhere. I will probably just toothbrush it all away in warm soapy.

No idea as to who the owner was. Off a service corps type's hate belt apparently.

I'll not be scrapping the other; It did it's job. Thanks.

regards
Darrell
