I am attempting to get a positive ID for the badge being worn by the rifleman in the photo:
Badge 1.jpg The chap is standing infront of a sentry box with the words 'London Regt' painted on it, and I believe his badge to be Post Office Rifles, though the other most likely possibility is Rifle Brigade. Both badges are of course difficult to distinguish between at a distance, but the characteristic of the badge in the photo above which makes me think it is most likely to be Post Office Rifles, is the section at the very bottom (circled in the examples below): Post Office Rifles.jpg Rifle Brigade.jpg Comments, views, opinions welcomed. With thanks, Peter |

I agree the shape looks more like the PO Rifles.

Post office Rifles for me.......the angle and width of the spaces between the ends of the laurel wreath and the crown. And I seem to remember that he had a sack of letters marked Post on his shoulder in the original picture. ![]() Best wishes mate. Speak soon. Brian |
