I am not aware of any Burmese speakers on the forum, but if anyone could offer a translation of the letting on this badge I would be very grateful.
The outline of the borders of Burma are outlined in yellow enamel. The shield in the centre appears to show two keys and a dagger. The circle at top left is possibly a monument, the circle top right is possibly a gateway to the palace at Mandalay or somewhere similar. The lower circle appears to have either a sausage roll or a toilet roll but this might just be a coincidence, as neither of these items are featured in traditional heraldry. So, my conclusion is that the key to identifying this badge is in the Burmese writing. |

Burmese 'crests' had different mottos based on the name of the country at the time.
Federal Republic Pindaungsu Myanma-Nainggan-Daw 1948.01.04-1974 Pindaungsu Socialist Thammada Myanma Nainggan Daw 1974.01.04-1989 UNION OF BURMA Pindaungsu Myanma-Nainggan-Daw 1989.06.18 - 2008 Each one has some similar elements to the scroll on your badge. http://www.hubert-herald.nl/Myanmar1.htm .

Thank you Mike, that is very helpful indeed. I was guessing that it was a post colonial badge due to the lack of an English scroll.
