Hi South African members,
I don't have Owen's book and would be grateful for information on this badge, made by Firmin, London. When was it worn and who by? Thanks, John |

This badge was worn by the South African Railways (SAR). In Afrikaans - Suid Afrika Spoorwee (SAS). It was worn on a peaked cap by civilian Guards, Conductors and others who wore a uniform during the course of their duties. I do not know the exact dates of wear but do know that it existed in the 1940s up to the 1980s. Hope this helps.
