That marked slider on the Berks Yeomanry makes it a copy, though regards the pattern of the badge, I think that looks good and if it didn't have that mark you would probably be judging the badge on what fittings it had. I would be interested on other opinion on that. Regards, Paul.

Your QOY is a good one.
It's not an issue badge, it's a PRI bought badge available to all OR's for the beret, hope this helps.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for looking and yes I did wonder about the marking but it seems to conform with the 1.5mm x 24.4mm size and lack of full stop after the "Gaunt" listed in the Makers Marks Gallery.

Hopefully someone will clarify originality or not for both of us....

The Gaunt B'ham marking was used on 70s restrikes to my knowledge.
