Welcome to the Forum. It is a collar badge for the PWRR: so modern.

Was it also used by The Queen's Alan?
I know they wore that pattern in anodised aluminium, did officers wear it in silver and gilt?

For PWRR, silver and gilt collars are worn in service dress and mess dress by officers, and AA are worn for no. 1 dress by ORs and mess dress by Corporals and WOs & Sergeants. I don't know that I've ever worn or seen one with a black centre. I wonder if this is from a bronzed collar, worn by all ranks in no.2 dress. Would it be possible to see a picture of the reverse please?

KR,

Pete.

I took the black horse to be of silver, just toned blue/black.

Hi Leigh,

It very possibly could be, I just thought it unlikely if the rest was not similarly toned.

KR,

Pete.

Its an anodised Queens Regt collar (left). The gilding strap and horse appear to have been painted/retouched - the horse rampant should of course be silver. The star and plume appear to be the original silver. The backing plate is incorrect for this collar.

Looks like an officer's silver (plated or "coloured") and gilt collar dog with an adjustment to the fittings?

I stand corrected I believe.

Does not present as a standard collar that's for sure. The round lug we do not see usually on collar badge and not seen the rectangular cut out before. Therefore the unusual backing plate would appear to be contemporary - but for what? Pouch badge of some sort?

Interesting
