I have a badge which I need help idenytifying. I have included photos showing both options, not sure which way it should be. Any help greatly appreciated.

It looks to me like a rather grubby ribbon of the Mercantile Marine War Medal. The correct order for the colours is green, white, red.

No, it looks sewn together so no MMWM or any other medal ribbon. Possibly RAF colours?

Possibly The Border Regiment?

My book Badges on Battle Dress identifies this (badge 517) as a regimental flash worn by the 8th Bn Dorsetshire Regiment, its use confirmed from contemporary records.

Spot on. Many of these types of flashes are often confusing.
