Default USMC WW2 Australian made PARA WING OPINIONS

Got a HBT named top with a parachute bulb on sleeve but its not a typical American made one but could it be a Australian made one?It is original to the top.
Thanks

I believe you are right.

This looks like an Australian made 'lightbulb' designed for wear by Aussie / Brit parachute qualified pers who were not assigned to a parachute unit.

It's a reasonable assumption to believe the Marine, whilst stationed in Australia, purchased the badge due to its close similarity to the USMC version of the 'lightbulb' and had it sewn on his uniform.

Regards

Paul
