Default Black Watch Sporran Badge

I recently acquired a fairly old sporran. I've been told its most likely Black Watch somewhere between 1870-1914. However the badge doesn't match the normal one from that time period....making some believe its earlier. Can anyone shed more light on this badge.

The key features are this badge is without the thistle and laurels as most seem to have around his feet. Also St. Andrew's head is turned.

Default NEW Information on the Sporran

Looks like the badge is actually form the Cameron Highlanders, not Black Watch.

How ever that creates more confusion that its on a typical BW Sporran, White with 5 Black tassels.... Cameron Highlanders normally wear Black with White tassels.

Any insight would be very welcome.

As for the sporran itself, it is likely 1940s on, judging by the condition of the patent leather, which is still in very good shape. These sporrans were also worn by the Black Watch of Canada well into the later part of the last century. There was no difference.
Regarding the badge, I have never seen one like that. It looks like a large officer collar badge.
A photo of the reverse of the sporran and how the badge is affixed would help.

Thank you for the information.

Here is an image of the back. The badge does not go through to the back, it attaches to the front part of the cantle. Its hard to see and can not get a picture of, but I am almost positive that it has 2 prongs that are folded over to secure it.

The badge looks to be original to the sporran, meaning I see no evidence or marking that a different shape/size badge was ever on it.

Canada makes sense, as the person I received it from was from Washington State near the boarder.

Any ideas on a value? If I wanted to secure up the back and wear it...would I be crazy?
