A/A Pattern Cards and Tags
Hi Guys,
Over the years I have continued to compile a list of information from anodised aluminium cap badge's Master/Standard Pattern Cards and Tags for one of the appendices of my book. This currently covers 103 different unit entries but I would like as many others as I can find to create the most accurate record so far of these items. If anyone has any pattern cards or tags created for anodised aluminium cap badges and are willing to share this information then please contact me. Images from the front and rear of the card would be the easiest for me. I will not use the images in the book but will just collate the information contained on the cards/tags. I would also like to receive images of pattern cards of those badges that were originally made from gilded metal and white metal that were later 'promoted' for A/A use. All contributions will be acknowledged in the book in print. Please contact me on my email address which can be found under Hagwalther Contact Info, Send a message via email to hagwalther OR Click on hagwalther next to the aircraft icon at the top of this post and chose Send email to hagwalther from the drop down list. Please note that I am only interested in getting information from actual examples of pattern cards and tags and for various reasons (including copy right and lack of authentication) do not wish to copy from existing publications. Many Thanks Chris |

Hi Guys,
re: I would also like to receive images of pattern cards of those badges that were originally made from gilded metal and white metal that were later 'promoted' for A/A use. These 'promoted' cars would have something like: "...Also for use in Anodised Aluminium..." or "...As a guide for Anodised Aluminium..." or similar hand written on them. Regards Chris |

Chris, have you seen these from 54Bty in the group album? Here is the Yorkshire Brigade / Volunteers example:

54Bty has been very useful in helping with quite a few aspects of this book and I'm sure I have all his examples both cards and tags. Note that this badge example (marked J.R. GAUNT LONDON) is not voided between the scroll and rose. Also the literal "BRIGADE" in "YORKSHIRE BRIGADE" seems to have been tip-exed out and replaced by the word "VOLUNTEER'S". Also a description is given to the front of the badge being "WHITE ROSE OF YORKSHIRE W/ST.EDWARDS CROWN, BELOW INSCRIBED 'YORKSHIRE'" and also recorded is "MARKII". CB 8086 (crossed out) was the number given to the Yorkshire Brigade and is recorded in Change Number C 9377 dated 31st August 1959. Interesting eh!!! Regards Chris |

Thanks for these images. I'm always interested in seeing pattern cards and tags as they give so much information. I was especially interested to see the comments on these collars with: LUGS TO BE VERTICAL NOT AS PATTERN Regards Chris |

Hello Peter,
No that would not be me, not a venue that I've ever liked really, it was better when it was on Greek Street and better still in the days when it was held in the town hall, seems so long ago now. Regards Frank |

Thanks!!! Any chance of another piccy of the pattern card - there is some info on the bottom of the card that is missing from the image supplied. This is often where the 'good stuff' is. Also, can I see the top of the Gurkha Signals pattern Tag too above the Specification No. I'm also looking for the pattern No. on this tag - can see the NSN OK. Regards Chris |
