WW1 New Zealand Army Chaplains Dept
Quick question for the New Zealand experts - the NZ Chaplains Dept badge in WW1 - has anyone seen one with a GAUNT tablet or would they have used ones made by STOKES ? From previous threads I believe ones stamped LUKES would have been post 1922? Tim

Hi Tim,
Sorry I can't answer your questions directly. I have checked my Chaplain badges and note that 2 hat badges have no maker's name (both with tabs), 2 collars have the Luke name, 2 collars have no name. Cheers, Tinto |

Hi Tim
Any badge stamped with Luke is Australian made post WW1 and generally WW2. My two sets of NZ Chaplain badges, cap badges voided and non voided were sourced in NZ and have no maker's stamp. Cheers John |

hi tim
all the badges ive seen either australian or NZ were either blank with no maker or STOKES made in australia. stokes made many NZ ww1 badges so probably made the chaplain's also. as john said, Luke badges are circa early 1920s onwards, so probably ww2 vintage bc |
