Default Badge Lot

Purchases this lot online, Im a sucker for a lot at a cheap price. I like to learn about the items. I assume the RLI are British but the rest are SA? Im assuming ww2 era. Tried to looked up SAMR , SRSU? SAC? but cant figure it out.

This is the sellers pic.

Anyone want to help me ID these badges?
Cheers!

Hi Vix,

Top left Rand Light Infantry title, top Southern Rhodesia Survey Unit title, top right South African Mounted Rifles 1913 - 1926, centre left Pretoria Regt collar, centre Duke of Edinburgh's own rifles probably collar, centre right Durban Light Infantry cap (is it brass?) bottom left South African Constabulary (I think? if so pre 1908) bottom Rand Light Infantry probably collar.

Iain,

Wow, thank you for the response!
So its all SA, very interesting. I love learning about other Allied countries!

Was sold as WW1 so Im happy to learn that there is actually some WW1 era items in the lot.

I will be able to get a better picture once the lot arrives.

Cheers!

Vix

Durban Light Infantry (actually Royal Durban Light Infantry) cast but is fine, WW2 era.

All badges are in order, my great uncle had the same RDLI badge, now in my collection. See here: http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...t=21443&page=3

Vix I am not sure about the SAC title, it looks WW2 vintage but cannot find it in my sources, it might not be South African?

Regards
Brian
