Default 8th (Pioneer) Btn, The Welsh Regiment Pagri?

I have been sent this photograph along with the name of a soldier in the 8th (Pioneer) battalion, Welsh regiment. Given that the 8th Btn Welsh Regiment saw action in Gallipoli, is the Pagri flash on the Wolseley helmet likely to that worn by the 8th battalion? It looks to be dark green.

An entry in The Badges of Kitchener's Army by David Bilton states that the 8th Bn wore a large mid-blue POW feathers on the back, 1" below the collar, first issued 1/8/15 at Gallipoli.
Canon I. Jenkins recalls wearing the sign on the left side of the sun helmet from about October 1916 as a young subaltern in Mesopotamia.

The9th Bn wore a green square with yellow border on both arms.

I have a photo of the PoW insignia being worn on the sun helmet. I'll dig it out.
