Default Lightning flash

Does anyone know what this is please? It has scanned as a light coloured back ground but is in fact a dark orange colour. Any help would be appreciated

It's from Op Herrick 13. 16th Air Assault Brigade's Pathefoinder Platton when they were in the Brigade Reconnaissence Force role.

Default DZ flash

To be strictly accurate it is the DZ flash for the Brigade Reconnaissance Force, of which the Pathfinder Platoon was a component part, but the BRF contained other elements such as the Engineer Recce etc...

Worn point uppermost? Lightning bolt tip pointing to top - following the arrow head design of the Pathfinder Platoon DZ Flash?? Was the desert version actually worn??

Many thanks for the identification, gentlemen.
Re the question of how it is worn, I would also like to know whether as a square or point uppermost, please

'British Airborne Insignia' by Oliver Lock shows it square with point down.

I certainly never saw it worn - I suspect this was a gizzit made up for the lads post tour although plenty of less than formally approved badges were regularly worn - not least the f**k al-Qaeda ones that so upset Tony Blair
