This image has the KC lined button from the previous message and a low quality QVC button with a floppy shank and back mark Extra Rich Quality. It is a pre 1891 model. The shank is uniform quality. The QVC button is around 3 grams, the KC button is 2 grams. Both are 19 mm.

I think pre 1890 floppy shank buttons are always 'other ranks' and I think the QVC button is either a fashion item or an export item for a foreign navy (e.g. Greek).

Thanks btns!

Yours sound exactly the same as mine. The fronts don't look too bad but as soon as you pick them up you realise how light they are. I had wondered if they might just be fashion items - but we all live in hope don't we?

I'll just chuck them back in the drawer where they live with the other 'rubbish' buttons.

Many thanks

Pete

Would it be possible please to see scans (front and back) of the Stokes-made chrome button? Never seen it before. Thanks
