Smile When Was This Badge Worn?

The attached badge is the formation badge of the 49th Independent Infantry Brigade. The brigade did not exist during ww2. Can anybody tell me when this badge was worn.

Thanks

John

Dear Dean,
Thank you for your reply. I must apolagise to you. But over the lunch hour I found most of the answer in a book that I had forgotten I had. THE BRITISH ARMY OVERSEAS 1945-70. The Brigade arrived in Kenya Sept 1953 and was disbanded in that country in Oct
1956.
Cheers

John
