I just seem to recall back in the 70's when brassards in shirtsleeves weren't the norm that I saw, I sighted anod al drums on red cloth backing. "Trade" badges on JHW's and No. 2's were cloth, never anod. al.
Maybe that was just the case in my little world at the time.

You would need to ask the authors in the MOD! But JSP768 has many mysteries often as a result of 'cut and paste' errors in a document that is not compiled by (or for) badge collectors or military historians! For example continuing references to the Light Infantry who disappeared into the Rifles in 2007.
