Question The Kings WW1 Sweetheart Brooch

Can anyone help, I have a silver and tortoise shell sweetheart brooch,on the front it says 'The Kings' the hallmark shows it as WW1 ,does anyone know anything about this regiment and the value of the brooch? Thanks Shaun
