Default Troop

Which formations used the designation ‘troop’ during WW2? I’ve seen it on something relating to a soldier who is almost certainly infantry, unless of course he is attached to another unit

The term "troops" was also generic as in " That's the stuff to give the troops" and in formation designations such as 21 Army Group Troops.

Thanks guys. The info I have gives the soldier’s name and number with ‘6 Troop’, the number is in the Leicestershire Regt block so maybe he was attached to another unit.
