Royal Artillery Officer Epaulette ID ?
I am hoping that someone more knowledgeable than I can assist here please.
Whilst going through a backlog of photographs I have I found this one showing what I believe to be a World War One era Royal Artillery Officer wearing some form of greatcoat. He wears a single rank pip to the epaulette along with what appears to be two cords running from under the pip to the collar. Can anyone enlighten me as to what these cords are or represent please. Many thanks Simon. |

The 1902 pattern shoulder strap, which for the Royal Regiment of Artillery were to be edged with blue and have a double row of scarlet down the centre.
