Trafalgar Square March 1945
I was accessioning a number of photos that we received yesterday that covered a Second World War Canadian Armoured Corps MM winner's career prior to, during and post war. This is a photo of his brother in Trafalgar Square who was a craftsman in the RCOC and then RCEME. Although I found the curved CANADA flashes interesting it wasn't until I looked at the other folks in the photo and saw the two 1 Can Para guys and, more interesting to me, the ATS ladies with the Artillery collar on the right breast and at least one with the white RA lanyard.

Thanks for posting an interesting photo,
Both the ATS dress distinctions you mentioned were officiallu authorised and in this case both for those serving with RA units. The badge above the pocket was a way of indicating the regiment or corps with which the ATS was serving. Jon |
