Default RAF Historical Society Journal

Found this whilst stumbling around the web: https://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/documen...Journal-52.pdf

Page 103 onwards - really interesting article called: "THE LAW, AND LORE, OF RAF FLYING BADGES" by Wg Cdr Jeff Jefford

Well worth a read for RAF badge collectors

A very interesting article

I would also recommend the same author's book Observers and Navigators: And Other Non-Pilot Aircrew in the RFC, RNAS and RAF. which includes a great amount of detail on the origins of aircrew badges. Lots of copies available for moderate prices on Abe Books.
