Default 1961 UN Egypt, 115 ATU

There is a great resource for the RCAF U.N. Operations in the Gaza at El Arish, Egypt if you might be interested and haven't seen it. The main Operational base was quite small in reality. Check out:

I've attached some photos of my dad when he served there as SWO in 1961. They illustrate some examples of uniforms, caps, brassards, etc.

One story I remember him telling me was of a donkey that hung around the bar and liked beer. The guys would buy a bottled beer and give it to the creature who would happily guzzle it. By the end of the evening, it's hard to say who would be in worse shape.

Thanks for posting the images. I was not aware the RCAF contingent had the OD & armlets with the Canadian nationality and UN badges. They are frequently seen for the army, but not the RCAF.
