39-1 39-1A Caveat
Hi
Posting this to make fellow collectors aware. I have noticed that when buying has advertised or in your hand is key. 39-1 or 39-1A aren't the scarcest of badges but you also don't see them everyday either. For some years now I always thought I had the cap badge 39-1 until recently. After buying what I thought was a cap badge turned out to be a collar (Yes Charlton's can sometimes be correct) Now I had 2 collars to 39-1 . After contacting another collector PB my suspicions were confirmed. 39-1 Cap badge 52.00mm H 61.93mm W Brass w slider. NMM 39-1 Collars 41.81mm H 38.53mm W Brass 3 lug NMM 39-1A 47.10mm H 47.34mm lugs originally N&S pinback broach Brass MM Tiptaft Collars still looking ! Let me know Thanks for looking! Cheers Rob

Rob, there is some evidence in LAC documents that the 39-1 collar may have been worn as a cap badge with gl badges worn as collars.

Thanks
I know there's no shoulder titles and this badge was the same as the British without the banner we did the same with the Musketry badge. That's what colonials do!
